As manager of Connie’s Coffee and Cones, Sophia Miller believes something exciting is happening in Worthville based on the harried pace of a few of its town directors. But what? Meanwhile, Sophia has her own excitement—her son, Sam, is graduating from high school. As a single mother, she has liked the predictability of her life. Now she faces a serious challenge with Sam’s departure for college and the impending empty nest. Complications pile on including an unexpected houseguest who announces she plans on staying “indefinitely.” In addition, her new next-door neighbor, Graham Wright, arrives in Worthville with handsome good looks and his dog Cody, but also a job description which, given a secret in Sophia’s past, would make it seemingly impossible for her to have a relationship with him. It turns out, Graham carries his own secret, which will come to light, and hold the potential for disastrous consequences. What is the big news in Worthville? And will Sophia and Graham find a future together in the face of so many obstacles? Will their secrets drive them further apart or will they be able to allow God’s grace to guide them and embrace the new thing God wants to do in their lives?
