When the notorious and unpleasant gossip Mr Marmaduke Yarnton is murdered during Lady Windlesham's party, Justin Rutherford and his niece Anthea join forces to track down the murderer. Yarnton had dropped a name into the conversation which stirred up trouble - more than one person present had a secret to hide.
