Rod Baynton's legacy to Chris, his widow, was two small children and a load of debts. His one asset was the lovely house where the world of stage and TV had once gathered. Chris lacked neither courage nor friends and with the help of Dr Michael Shandon she turned the house into a nursing home. Gratitude to Michael grew into love but Michael was already committed to Anthea, and Anthea's possessive love brought complications and heartbreak, and threatened tragedy to them all.
