Slate is back but hasn’t woken from his coma. There’s no telling if he will wake or what his mental state will be if he does. Scarlett’s peace is in constant turmoil with Peak’s presence, clouding her judgement. Until Slate wakes, there is no one strong enough to stop him. Her relationship with Brass is shattered, and neither knows where they stand. Indigo feels the chasm seep into her bond with Quick. Her already torn heart feels the strain. With the Faunelle’s prophecy revelation, Scarlett and Indigo must put aside their wants and needs for the greater good.
