Synopsis

The Challenger family was facing difficulty after difficulty. Mr. Challenger's health breakdown started the family's financial downhill slide. They had had to give up their home and were reduced to taking a couple of rooms with a stingy landlady. The kind neighborhood butcher helped the family find temporary lodging and provided food. One of the children's steadfast faith and prayers for the family in spite of trouble began to revive hope and faith.
