Louise felt confused by the struggle Why was Roland Winterhaven so determined to spoil her chance to establish herself as a portrait painter? Each time Lady Amber Winterhaven commissioned Louise to paint her children, Roland quickly countermanded the order. "Roland is very masterful," Lady Amber explained resignedly.
