It should have been enough, but Julia had an obsessive need to know the story that had been enacted on the other side of that hospital crib from which they had taken her, despite the advice of the family doctor and the vicar to leave well alone. ‘You're crazy,’ Nicholas, the boy-friend, told Julia bluntly.
