Christabel hadn't gone out to New Zealand to stay, but to sort out the domestic problems her selfish half-sister Lisa had left behind. But in a very short time she knew that this was her land, the place she wanted to stay in for ever; a 'daughter of the misty gorges' as the local expression described someone who really belonged. And Conrad Josefsen, she knew, was the man she wanted to stay there with. If only Christabel could persuade him that she wasn't tarred with Lisa's brush!
