Iuti Mano is a warrior whose energy has been drained by watching those around her suffer and die. To regain her inner calm, she severs her bonds with Mano Niuhi, the shark that had bestowed generations of her family with magic and power. When Demon Drummers make Iuti the Mother Drum, she uses her remaining power to defeat the magic that stalks her.
