Synopsis

A love so hot, it could melt them both. All her life, Princess Mirri Naga has been taught to respect and fear the Origin—fiery progenitor of her race and protector of her people. The time has come for her father to step down as ruler of Fyre so Mirri can take her rightful place as Ah-nis Na Righ—charged to uphold the laws and traditions that have governed her people since the founding thousands of years ago. If Mirri fails to adhere to the Origin’s will, the Eternal Flame will burn her from the inside ou t to punish her discontent. Izkander ibn Bakr, honored sheik of the djinn Kingdom of Shihala, is bored with his opulent, pampered, freewheeling existence. Chasing women, fighting monsters, doing death-defying tricks on the back of his wild flying drakonte—none of it thrills him the way it used to. Overshadowed by his famous parents, Izkander longs to distinguish himself as his own man and prove that he is more than just a pretty face. When Mirri and Izkander meet by chance in the skies above Fyre, they are instantly sealed together in close proximity with a promise of Eternal Union that cannot be broken. Now Izkander cannot leave the strange kingdom of Fyre or break its mysterious laws without risking the beautiful queen’s fiery death , and stoic Mirri is forced to reckon with a wise-cracking, incessantly showboating, indecorous excuse for a fiancé who makes her want to laugh at inappropriate moments, speak her mind, and be her true self. But true love is not a luxury the rulers of Fyre are permitted , and if Mirri indulges, her flesh will melt for her bones, like her brother before her. This close-proximity, first love and virgin love romance pits tradition against new ideas and wild love against familiarity. This paranormal fantasy romance takes place in a medieval setting that draws on Celtic and Gaelic cultures for Mirri's people and Arabic and Turkish cultures for Izkander. It involves interracial love and the complexities of joining two completely unlike cultu
