When, in self defence, Felicity Moon strikes her employer Julian Cannon, she is forced to leave the place where her father had sent her for her own safety. Accused and jailed for bankrolling smugglers, Squire Moon is unaware of the dangers Felicity is facing. She is given one last chance by Cannon's housekeeper in the form of a reference to Mr Lucas Packman, a man her father distrusts. Felicity faces a stark choice: trust Packman or her father.
