Synopsis

At twenty-four years old, Miss Kitty Price has yet to fall in love. In Victorian Society, where the only escape from a boring existence for a woman is through marriage, this is a serious situation. So she resolves to accept the hand of Sir Randolph Sedge, a classical scholar who will at least inform her mind with his superior knowledge. Then a bare half hour after committing herself, she falls head long in love with another. A man with a title, a considerable fortune, handsome dark good looks and betrothed to her pretty cousin, Dinah. How can Kitty possibly dream of Edgar, Lord Ansley, in these complicated circumstances?
