A young woman wakes up in an unfamiliar public garden and realises that she remembers nothing about herself. Her voice betrays the fact that she is English, but the park is in Ohio in the United States. Her only clue is a scrap of paper bearing the name Andrew Benson and a local address. The girl goes to the Benson house only to discover that, although she remembers none of the inhabitants, she herself is only too well known to Mr. Benson and his family.
