Synopsis

In the last installment of the Quinn DeMello series… After a long history of making bad decisions and running away from her problems, Quinn DeMello still doesn’t seem to have learned her lesson. As her beloved triplets’ twenty-first birthday approaches, she’s called them all home to Unionville, Nevada, where Quinn’s past is finally catching up with her. Something’s clearly wrong here, and her family wants answers. H. Christian (Chris) McLean, M.D., also is joining the birthday festivities. After holding a candle for Quinn for years, Papa Chris, as the triplets call their godfather, has settled into a happy life with his musician wife Eliza in their love nest in Maui. But his arrival in Unionville puts an unwelcome spotlight on his own secrets. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, young Doctor Will Johnson is trying to make his way from a refugee camp in Tanzania to his own birthday party back home in Nevada. Inspired to follow in his physician godfather’s humanitarian footsteps, Will has questions about the true nature of his mother’s relationship with Papa Chris. First, he must navigate bombed-out airports, near-fatal medical emergencies, and militarized borders to get back home and find the answers he seeks. Now, Quinn finally has nowhere else to run. As the people she loves most in the world rush home to be with her, it’s finally time to come clean—even if it means destroying the carefully constructed walls that have kept them all safe for two decades. Can the DeMello-Johnson clan forgive her, or will Quinn’s fortress of secrets tear them apart?
