Heartbroken Tess Tennant is fleeing London for a fresh start. She2 dreaming of familiar faces and places, picture-perfect cottages and countryside, and of course Adam, her best friend since childhood. But things are not as she remembers them. Adam is preoccupied with his new girlfriend, the locals are up in arms, and the past that Tess thought she2 put behind her just won2 let her go. Tess Tennant returns to teach in the town where she grew up and meets again her childhood best friend, Adam. But a big night out with him ends in tears and when Tess takes her class to visit Rome is in the mood to be reckless and is swept off her feet by a charming stranger. Back home Adam is gone and she must discover the secret of his past.
