Into troubled Sri Lanka of the 1970s are born Priyanthi, a Sinhalese Buddhist, and Niranjan, a Tamil Christian. When their eyes are opened to the world outside their protected existence, they realise love marriages can work and marry in secret, but tragedy is not far away.
