A nightmarish vision of a socialist Britain where life is secure, risks are minimal, but people are not happy. Indeed they are, literally, being bored to death. While the State-managed economy is so inefficient that it cannot keep up with the demand for the services of the Public Euthanasia Centers and Crematoria by people seeking escape from the socialist Utopia.
