Isabella was born for the stage but London society has yet to acknowledge her talent. With her father's declining sobriety it is more important than ever for her to rise in society's esteem and on the stage in a lead role. Their financial security depends on it. When Jonathon first sees Isabella on the stage he finds himself drawn to her in a way no other woman in society has appealed to him. But as a duke, she isn't a suitable match for him. Still, wanting to be near her and hoping to turn her into a proper lady whom he could woo into marraige with society's approval, he offers to become her patron with the caveat that he approve the roles she plays on stage. When Isi is offered a leading role that Jonathon thinks is unsuitable, they will be forced to decide what is most important, society's approval or their happiness?
