Synopsis

Nothing went as expected. Marriage, divorce, motherhood! Now, she must navigate a web of love and loss, find the courage and conviction to survive. Meet Maggie. 24, a single mom. She didn’t plan on being single 27 years after her brief marriage. Divorce was easy. Growing up in the middle of her life was dramatically not. The story begins on the morning of her seventieth birthday. Maggie, an ordinary woman with some extraordinary experiences, drifts back nearly fifty years, revisiting people and places from the twenty-seven years of memories between her two marriages. It is 1974. Dating again is scary enough, but it is the seventies, a wild and crazy era where Americans are reeling from the impacts of the Vietnam War, Watergate, and the feminist movement. Social rules teeter on extinction while bras are ablaze. Maggie’s adventures and misadventures span a turbulent time of searching for answers without knowing the right questions, grappling with pivotal decisions that determine the course of any life. Meet the men who filled those evolving, fitful years with passion and uncertainty, liberating her sexually and personally, carrying her to womanhood. Each experience and each man are a colorful thread that creates the tapestry of her cloth. You may hear and see yourself in Maggie. Laugh and cry with her, be her cheerleader and critic, love her and hate her. Resonate with her experience of coming of age in adulthood, not adolescence or the challenges of being a single mother or how fiercely she strives for and protects her independence throughout her life.
