Major A.C. Bannister - known as Ace - grew up on the mean streets of a Texas town. The army was his one chance to get out, and he took it. He worked his way up through the ranks and now, as ROTC head at a Texas college, he's admired by all the young men - and adored by all the young women. Truly a "major attraction"... Captain Meredith Marshall St. James has a West Point education, a general for a father and an attitude that doesn't meet with the major's approval. Ace just doesn't hold with her belief in a 'new' army, a 'softer' army. He soon learns two things: 1. the beautiful captain St. James isn't as soft as she looks, and 2. on the battlefield of love, unconditional surrender is sometimes the only option!
