Synopsis

Elizabeth knew her parents were worried about money, but even though the papers said it was the worst depression they's seen., she didn't mind. She loved her four brothers and living on their Ohio farm. Too little money and too little food wasn't enough to keep them down... until her father lost part of his hand to a piece of farm equipment. For the first time, Elizabeth and her family have to turn to charity for food and basic neccessities. When her grandparents came to America, they said anyone who works hard could make it here, but that's starting to look doubtful in the face of the Great Depression and personal misfortunes. Elizabeth and her mother decide it's up to them to keep hope alive. Their spirit and determination draw you in, making "New Shoes for Elizabeth" a riveting and touching tale of true people in trying times.
