In 1769 Boston, it isn't always easy to distinguish friends from enemies, as high-spirited Kendell discovers after meeting Blade Kennedy. According to rumor, Blade is bent on destroying Kendell's family. But it's hard for Kendell to believe that Blade means her harm when he makes her tremble with desire and unspoken dreams.
