The Nobels is a historical novel of three young Swedish girls' journey to adulthood at the outset of WWII and of those who cross their paths. This romantic adventure story focuses on Annika Bengtson, her flamboyant, womanizing husband, Kurt Nobel, and their twin sons Alex and Axel. Billy Jones was a British sailor when he first set his eyes on Annika at the Swedish folk parg, Liseberg. Billy could never forget Annika even as he grew his industrial empire; nor could he leave her destiny to chance. The journey brings the readers to New York, Wisconsin, Seattle, and Fairbanks, Alaska. The story also follows the adventures of King Alibassi from the fictional emirate of Jodassy, and the readers discover how Alex and Axel inherit an empire and fourteen wives. The journey begins on the Swedish west coast, where three ordinary young girls grow up to become adventurous and adjusting to adult life, all in their own peculiar ways. Destiny has staked out unique paths for them, but they remain close friends. The story is based on actual events. Jodassy was added for effect, although it could be based on almost any small emirate. Kurt and his intolerant family are convinced that they are in a class above most, but they will learn better. The war brought many inconveniences, and we all dealt with those in our own ways. I hope you'll find my story intriguing and will scout for my advancing novels. Lars Ehrlander
