Synopsis
Pride & Prejudice: When Elizabeth Bennet first meets bachelor Fitzwilliam Darcy, she thinks him arrogant and conceited; he is indifferent to her good looks and lively mind. When she later discovers that Darcy has involved himself in the troubled relationship between his friend Bingley and her beloved sister Jane, she is determined to dislike him more than ever. Northanger Abbey: Catherine Morland, a remarkably innocent seventeen-year-old woman from a country parsonage, spends a few weeks in Bath with a family friend. She meets and falls in love with Henry Tilney, who invites her to visit his family estate, Northanger Abbey. Once there, Catherine, a great reader of Gothic thrillers, lets the shadowy atmosphere of the old mansion fill her mind with terrible suspicions.
