Synopsis

“You're dependable and comfortable, that's what counts here,” Dr. Hal Dickinson told Nurse Rosie Simpson when he invited her to work as the Nurse Practitioner at his country clinic. And at the grand age of twenty-six, without an offer of marriage to her name, Rosie had come to the conclusion that a settled life with a man had not been written into her destiny. Especially not with someone so good-looking, vital and dynamic as Dr. Dickinson. Men like Hal so confident and unshakeable liked to pretend that women like Rosie didn't exist.
