Synopsis

Torn Between Suspicion and Desire... — Afterward, Claire would say that every moment had been counted, every step measured. That summer she had neither sought love nor expected it, yet it had come to her -- lush and full-blown -- in the dazzling presence of Max Leighton ... charming, sophisticated Max whose nimble lips and silken embrace left Claire breathless and hopelessly enamored. It was almost too perfect: she, the gifted, struggling artist; he, the famed London art critic. Talent drew them together, passion bound them, and in his arms, Claire felt complete at last. But then a voice from Max's past was raised. Echoes of bitter secrets and forgotten accusations engulfed Claire's world, threatening everything dear to her -- her happiness, her love, and perhaps her very life. Now pretty, vulnerable Claire must ask herself the question every woman dreads: Can I, with all my heart, trust the man I love?
