Synopsis

As Shire Reeve for the Southeastern U.S. Mages' Council, Valeria Banning pledged her life to protect humans and the mageborn from supernatural threats. Now, after rescuing a mother and her child from a pack of ravenous ghouls, she’s about to have that pledge tested. Val is their prisoner, and they’ll drain her life force and leave her a desiccated husk if she’s lucky. If not, her fate could be far, far worse. But Val’s desperate magical plea for assistance doesn’t go answered. Before the ghouls can have their way with her, she’s rescued by a powerful mage she instantly recognizes as Griffin Dare , hero-turned-traitor, and the most-wanted fugitive in mage society. Years earlier, Griffin inexplicably killed a member of the ruling council. Now, as he nurtures a weak and wounded Val back to health, he tries desperately to explain why. Far from the traitor he’s been portrayed to be, Griffin is actually on a mission to expose the real villains threatening mage society, one of whom currently sits on the Southeastern U.S. Mages' Council. Soon, Val finds herself joining Griffin as a fugitive from justice - and as their partnership deepens, so too does the undeniable attraction between them. However, how can Val uphold her pledge to protect mage society could cost the life of the man she loves. Renegade Mage is the explosive second book in Nancy Northcott’s The Light Mage Wars - a series of fast-paced paranormal romances described by readers as “passionate tales of romance and thrills.” Love on the Run, Enemies to LoversThis book was originally published as Renegade.
