Synopsis

Since they first met, when she was twelve and he was nineteen, Rosalind had loved her stepbrother Rowland, and as she grew older it gradually became understood that they would marry. So that when Rowland gently but firmly indicated that after all she was wasting her time, the blow was so great that Rosalind left home. She tried to bury her heartbreak in an absorbing job, in world travel - but the pull of her love was still there, and now, four years later, she was back at their New Zealand home.
