“Sometimes, we are so busy looking at flowers in someone else’s garden that we forget the beautiful ones we have in our own.” Twenty-four-year-old Gemma Windly is an editor at a popular publishing house in Toronto. Dr. William Noo is a neurosurgeon at City Hospital with a five-year-old son named Isaac. The two individuals, living very different lives with very different mindsets and life goals, find their paths colliding one day when, because of her yellow umbrella, Isaac mistakes Gemma for his estranged/ absent mother. It is like fate, the way their lives intertwine. What begins as an arrangement made from the impulsive desire to help, slowly begins to simmer something very real in Gemma's heart. Who would've thought that a yellow umbrella could change Gemma's life forever?
