From cotton fields to football fields, Annie and Whit’s dreams are on a collision course with destiny. In this game of tempting fate, no one wins. Annie Maisson had big dreams, until bad luck forced her into a dismal life. When Louisiana’s most notorious football star sets his sights on her, she feels more stuck than ever. She can’t leave, and he can’t stay; the only thing destined is heartbreak. Even he warns her not to fall in love. Star quarterback Whit Douglas has a bright future, if his dark past doesn’t hold him back. He’s counting down the days until his escape to the NFL and playing dirty to get there.
