It was a long way from Silicon Valley to backwoods Tennesee, but Laurette Hailey was ready to escape the fast-paced California computer world to come home to the Smoky Mountains and let memories of a disastrous marriage fade into the summer air. Jeff Murray had come back too. He'd returned from Memphis to find that running the Locust Grove Police Department provided plenty of challenge. Once he'd been Laurette's friend; now he wanted to be so much more. But Jeff was the law--and Laurette had something to hide. Her beloved grandfather was running an illegal still!
