In 1666, bribed with the King's Dowry -- an ox and a cow, a pair of chickens, two barrels of salted meat and eleven crowns in money -- Yvette journeys from her native France to find herself a husband in the New World. But how will she choose the right man from all the eager settlers who await her arrival in Montreal?
