Synopsis

When Pete Lawson defies his aunt and uncle to visit The Darkest Forest, he finds more than he bargained for. A journey that begins as a means to impress his friends soon becomes more intriguing and dangerous than he ever imagined. Pete becomes obsessed with discovering how much of what he heard of The Darkest Forest is true and how much is just the ramblings of the town drunk. Could the Forest hold the secret of his father's disappearance? As with any unhealthy obsession, Pete becomes caught up and unable to free himself from the poor choices he has made. It is only at the darkest of times that he learns the severity of his mistake. But, it is through this realization that he also discovers that when the rest of the world walks out, there is always one who will walk in. Pete finds he has a special friend who will willingly go where no one else will.
