Synopsis

Eight-year-old Julie Monday, raised in a children's home, enjoys a rare moment of happiness when she visits the Essex seaside and meets eleven-year-old Harry Walker. They spend a few hours together, before she must return to the Foundling Hospital, and Harry goes home to his family. Ten years later, they meet again and marry just before the outbreak of the Second World War. It's now 1939 and while Harry is in the Royal Air Force, Julie must face the London Blitz alone with their son. Then, during an air raid, Julie is injured and left with severe memory loss. But when she's given a new identity as Eve Seaton, it proves impossible to completely forget her former life as Julie Monday ...
