Synopsis

A buying trip to Brisbane for her arts and craft shop had prompted Peta to visit friends, Helen and Nelson Young. Nelson, being his bombastic, bouyant self, had talked her into driving him to Tambo, and although considerably out of her way, she had reluctantly agreed. Now, hour's later after dropping her friend off at his destination, she was stranded on the side of the highway miles from anywhere and cursing the name of her friend. Fate was about to step in, however, in the form of Beale Jacobs; a fellow traveller on this lonely, semi-deserted highway. Peta's life was about to change forever. "Marry you!" Peta echoed his words in stunned disbelief, wondering why a man as charismatic as Beale Jacobs would ask a woman to marry him after such a short acquaintance. Life in the bush would certainly be life changing. Would Peta be able to handle it? She was a city girl knowing nothing about country life, let alone what happened on a cattle station. Peta felt there was an undeniable pull and her heart strings were tuning up for the grand finale. She was about to discover a whole new world; one that would help to uncover long lost secrets concerning past generations in Beale's family background.
