'The Gypsy Tearoom' is set in the divided southern Italian town of Triento. The eldest son of the town's most prosperous family is marrying its most beautiful girl. Raffaella is the daughter of a fisherman so she is marrying well. However the marriage is over before it has begun. Raffaella, now a widow, is young and wants to be loved again.
