Callum Vasara wasn't much of anything before duty called his name, just a common Viribus born with superior strength and almost no sense of humor. Taking a place in the newly crowned King's court had been a gamble, but one he'd known would eventually pay off - and he was right. Three years later, he's second-in-command of the Athozian army and one of the King's most loyal advisors. Bishop Algarin has no family, no real friends, and has spent his life in hiding. His powers are rare and his kind are judged based on their eyes alone, so when he's found by the King's Renegal, he believes it's the end of the line for him. But the King isn't what he thought he'd be, and neither is the choice he's given: walk away freely and return to the streets he came from with nothing to his name, or join the very men that ripped him from his home in defense of the King and Athoze itself. Each must tread lightly to keep their lives, their hearts, and their oaths to the King. Too bad neither of them are any good at it.
