As PA to successful banker Richard Lorival, Margaret Gates is the envy of her colleagues in the typing-pool. When Richard's wife dies in a tragic accident, the relationship between Richard and Margaret is put to the test. But this is the 1950s, and women like Margaret put duty before passion.
