Synopsis

To escape her troubled home life, Amish schoolteacher Joy Schrock flees from her Ohio home to accept a teaching position in a small Old Order Amish community in Maryland. She wants nothing more than to live a peaceful life, to heal physically and emotionally, and to teach the community's children. What she does not need is a bossy man who barges into her life and classroom to offer what he believes is a solution to every problem. Joel Miller owns a successful repair shop and is usually able to fix anything that is broken. Unfortunately, he often rushes in to correct problems he believes need solving without being asked to do so--much to the dismay of some of the recipients of his help, particularly the new schoolteacher. Six-year-old Joshua Miller loves his teacher and his big brother, Joel. Since they are both special people, he believes they would be the perfect match for each other. Never mind that Joy thinks Joel is pushy and meddlesome, and Joel believes Joy is too stubborn and independent. Can a first grader's matchmaking efforts soften two hurting, mistrusting hearts?
