THE NIGHT I GOT LUCKY is the story of 32-year-old Billy Rendall who, with the help of an oddball therapist and a jade frog, gets everything she's wanted overnight. Her normally aloof husband suddenly wants to talk and have sex on a regular basis; she gets the vice-presidency promotion she's been waiting for for years; her longtime crush, Evan, starts to flirt with her; her life-meddling mother sends her a postcard from Milan and Billy discovers she is over her father's long-ago abandonment. For a while everything is perfect for this luck lady. But over time her husband's attention becomes smothering, she can't resist Evan's advances and she has become a power-hungry executive. She also feels lonely without her mother and her feelings of disappointment about her father's abandonment. Billy starts to wonder if those crazy people who always said that the grass is greener on the other side mide be right. And in that case, is it too late to go back to her old likfe?
