After working as a nurse in London, a broken romance sends Patricia Neilson home to Australia for a holiday. She discovers that her grandfather, in a wheel-chair following an accident, refuses to see a specialist whose skills might help him walk again. Determined to change his mind, Patricia conspires with his doctor, head stockman, Andrew Nolan and an old friend, Roger Bennett. A film company's request to use Neilson Downs as background for a feature production involves Patricia in movie-making, before a dramatic turn of events forces her to re-evaluate life, as her destiny finally becomes clear.
