Synopsis

'Warlock's Wench' - the whispers were everywhere, accusing Gentian Summerlee of witchcraft, after the death of her father, a skilled herbalist and scholar. Near death herself, she finds shelter in a bakery and knows she must accept a menial position in order to survive. Fighting to retain her pride in her battle for respectability and security, Gentian has to abandon her dreams of the dashing Captain Charles Claverton - or should she risk all her hard-won independence in a last desperate bid for love?
