They were enemies right from the start. Anthony Roscot had returned from two years abroad to find a noisy party taking place in his home. He was furious. But that was only the beginning of his problems with Kit Conway, the party's irrepressible organizer. Kit felt sorry for the introverted Anthony; a cynic who didn't like or trust anyone.
