Synopsis

The War Horse Some scars run deeper than others. Some healers need healing too. Trevor Drury has spent decades proving his worth, building a life, a career, and unshakable confidence despite losing his legs in Vietnam. At sixty-nine, he's learned to navigate the world on his own terms. But four years after his wife's death, he's navigated straight into loneliness. Kristy Summers knows all about rebuilding. Her equine therapy practice is her pride and joy, helping people with disabilities find strength and confidence through horses. What she can't seem to rebuild is trust, not after her fiancé's brutal betrayal left her questioning everything about herself. When a wayward loaf of bread brings them together at the grocery store, neither expects the connection that sparks between them. Trevor finds himself drawn back to the world of horses he left behind decades ago. Kristy discovers that the confident bodybuilder in the wheelchair might be exactly the kind of man worth taking a chance on. But when a health scare forces them both to confront their deepest fears, Trevor must will he run from the possibility of another loss, or fight for the chance at love? And can Kristy trust her heart to a man who's already proven he can disappear when things get hard? Two wounded warriors. One chance at healing. And a wise old horse who knows more about love than either of them. The War Horse is the second book in the Wounded Warrior Series—a heartfelt romance celebrating resilience, second chances, and the courage it takes to love again.
