Synopsis

When Rose Sharpe leaves school she stays at home, becoming a prisoner to her mother's illness and her father's tyranny. Alf Sharpe becomes convinced that no man is good enough for his daughter but himself, and when Rose tries to escape she is presented with an awful choice. While Rose believes hope of a better life has gone, her old schoolfriend Jeff, unable to forget the gentle girl he knew, is trying to track her down. Having ruined Rose's life, Alf has set his sights on her sister Mary, and it is a race against time to save her from her father's vengeance.
