Lizzie Vale, Nellie Cobridge's youngest sibling, has to make a decision. What will she do with her life? Journalism excites her, but in 1938 it's not easy for a woman to get a job in this field, however bright and lively she is. Determined to succeed, she tries various schemes and tackles everything with enthusiasm. Fortunately, she has the support of a loving family when things go wrong. She meets Charlie and her future seems set. Or is it?
