Synopsis

Miss Eleanor Bellamy has always known her sister is the apple of their family’s eye, while she is content to remain in the background, spending her time playing chess and quietly assisting with the estate rather than seeking attention. When her sister’s match to the Marquess of Ravensford is announced, Eleanor expects little to change. Yet during the courtship, it is the marquis’s quiet friend who, for the first time, makes her feel truly seen. Julian Fairleigh, the Marquess of Ravensford, never expected to inherit his title so soon, nor to face a marriage-minded world while still reeling from heartbreak. Unwilling to trust the Bellamys’ sudden interest, he agrees to trade identities with his closest friend to uncover the truth. Yet the more time he spends with Eleanor, the more dangerous the ruse becomes, for the woman who values him most is the one he is already deceiving. Just as Julian resolves to confess, the return of the woman who once broke his heart throws everything into chaos, while Eleanor faces her family’s blame and disappointment. With old wounds reopening and loyalties tested, they must decide whether a love born in deception can survive the truth, or if it will tear them apart before it can truly begin. Tropes: Wallflower, Forbidden Love, Hidden Identity. "Winning the Marquess’s Hidden Heart" is a historical romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
